Trade name: APYROL

Foam technology is growing in importance and is making applications available which are not possible with traditional paste coatings. This technology has established itself better in various areas of application than classical paste coatings.

With flame-retardant coatings a differentiation is made between two types of foam:
unstable or meta-stable foams are foams which disintegrate after application but are still visible on the textile after drying. They are used above all as a flame-retardant backing coating on upholstery fabrics.

  • APYROL BND-LV:
Flame-retardant foam product which is applied with a coating knife or screen system. Coatings with APYROL BND-LV have a very soft handle.

Stable foams retain their foam structure even after drying and do not disintegrate. As a rule they remain very much on the surface of a textile substrate, therefore have low penetration and can impart a very soft textile handle.

Flame-retardant stable foam coatings are used above all for coating elaborate blackout blinds. In order to achieve absolute light-tightness three coats are applied, dried, pressed, partially calendered and fixed.

  • APYROL GBO:
Foamable commercial compound for producing flame-retardant blackout blinds which achieve flame-resistance to DIN 4102/B1 if a sufficient quantity is applied and the basic material is suitable.
  • APYROL S-MB1:
Flame-retardant foam product for coating blackout blinds which must fulfil French NF-P 92 503 (“M1”) flame resistance standards. Here too, the quantity applied and the suitable basic material are decisive.
